#BREAKINGTHEBIAS

A Virtual Conversation

MARCH 31ST, 2022

A panel of expert change makers discussed the intersection of gender and racial identities in relation to lived experience and this challenging moment in our society.

The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of current issues facing gender and racially diverse people in Canada, and discuss community approaches to potential solutions. It focuses on educating and strengthening communities, and will foster impactful dialogue that empowers people towards action.

This event will honour two important days in our mutual goal of dismantling prejudice - International Women’s Day recognized on March 8, and International Day for the Elimination of Racism and Discrimination on March 21. In recognition of these important international days, we brought together a diverse panel of experts with lived experience to discuss the following themes:

  • The impact of current events on people with diverse gender and racial identities

  • The lived experiences of people with diverse gender and racial identities, and how they intersect

  • How to #BreakTheBias and create an environment where we can all thrive
